Chemical Papers is devoted to research in pure and applied chemistry and chemical engineering. At its founding in 1947, the journal presented the achievements of Slovak chemical science. Today, it is a peer-reviewed international journal published in English by the Institute of Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, with the support of several other academic institutions. Its interdisciplinary coverage brings chemistry research together with related disciplines, including analytical chemistry; (bio)catalysis; biochemistry; chemical (bio)technology; (bio)chemical engineering; chemical physics; drug chemistry; food chemistry; environmental chemistry; inorganic chemistry; macromolecular chemistry; materials chemistry; mathematical chemistry; medical and pharmaceutical chemistry; nanochemistry; organic chemistry; physical chemistry and more.

Criteria for publication in Chemical Physics are novelty, quality and general interest in experimental and theoretical chemical physics and physical chemistry. Articles are welcome that deal with problems of electronic and structural dynamics, reaction mechanisms, fundamental aspects of catalysis, solar energy conversion and chemical reactions in general, involving atoms, molecules, proteins, clusters, surfaces, interfaces and bulk matter. Reports on new methodologies and comprehensive assessments of existing ones, as well as applications to new types of problems are especially welcome. Experimental papers are expected to be brought into relation with theory, and theoretical papers should be connected to present or future experiments. Manuscripts that apply standard methods to specific physical-chemical problems and/or to specific systems are appropriate if they report novel results for an important problem of high interest and/or if they provide significant new insights.Manuscripts describing routine use or minor extensions or modifications of established and/or published experimental and theoretical methodologies are not appropriate for the journal. In addition, manuscripts describing analytical procedures that use established spectroscopic techniques, such as for sample characterization, will not be accepted for publication, even if they appear new or improved with respect to procedures previously used.In addition to regular research papers, Chemical Physics publishes invited perspectives articles (called ChemPhys Perspectives) and Special Thematic Issues. Each Chemical Physics Special Issue provides a snapshot of the leading edge in current research of a particular field in chemical physics, and contains invited articles by specialists in that field. The objective is to create a collection of articles representative of the newest findings in a field and equivalent to that covered at a topical conference.

Chemical Physics Letters publishes brief reports on molecules, interfaces, condensed phases, nanomaterials and nanostructures, polymers, biomolecular systems, and energy conversion and storage.Criteria for publication are quality, urgency and impact. Further, experimental results reported in the journal have direct relevance for theory, and theoretical developments or non-routine computations relate directly to experiment. Published since 1984, Chemical Research in Chinese Universities presents research articles, letters/communications and reviews written by faculty members, researchers and postgraduates in universities, colleges and research institutes all over China and overseas. It reports on the latest and most creative results of important fundamental research in all areas of chemistry and its subdisciplines.  Among its main areas coverage are research in Organic chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Physical chemistry, Polymer chemistry and polymer physics, Quantum chemistry, Biochemistry, Biochemical engineering, Medicinal chemistry, Nanoscience and more. Chemical Research in Chinese Universities is sponsored by Jilin University and mandated by the Ministry of Education of P. Chemical Research in Toxicology publishes on a wide range of topics in Toxicology that inform a chemical and molecular understanding and capacity to predict biological outcomes on the basis of structures and processes. The overarching goal of activities reported in the Journal is to provide knowledge and innovative approaches needed to promote intelligent solutions for human safety and ecosystem preservation. The journal emphasizes insight concerning mechanisms of toxicity over phenomenological observations. It upholds rigorous chemical, physical and mathematical standards for characterization and application of modern techniques. Representative research includes:

• Studies concerning the molecular mechanisms by which physical, chemical, or biological agents or materials, interact with and perturb the normal function and/or structure of biological systems, including living organisms, cells, or biomolecules.
• Studies that address hypotheses concerning mechanisms of adverse or therapeutic responses or contribute to the development of models of toxic/biological function on the basis of quantifying chemical, molecular and cellular responses to physical, chemical, or biological agents or materials.
• Studies involving data resulting from high content characterization of molecular responses to agents from the use of bioanalytical approaches such as proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, genomics, high content imaging, multi-omics, etc. to characterize targeted patterns or global cellular responses, as well as studies that use novel or existing data to create new models for quantifying exposures or building predictive models of biological pathways or networks.
• The identification and characterization of potentially hazardous agents such as environmental contaminants, industrial chemicals, drugs and drug-like molecules, natural products, biological toxins and engineered nanomaterials, and the development and application of novel methodologies for their detection and/or characterizations of their interactions with biological systems or biomolecules.
• Studies concerning pathological biochemistry and molecular mechanisms of disease etiology involving exogenous as well as endogenous agents and/or molecular pathways or networks.

In the case of uncertainty regarding the suitability of a manuscript, authors may send a pre-submission inquiry to the Editor that includes an abstract and cover letter indicating the intended manuscript format by e-mail (eic@crt.acs.org).

Chemical Reviews publishes comprehensive, authoritative, critical, and readable reviews of important recent research across all areas of chemistry.

Reviews are only considered for publication by invitation, but prospective authors are encouraged to submit a Proposal which, if accepted, will result in an invitation to submit a full Review. The journal considers submissions in core fields such as, but not limited to:

The initiative to start with publication of a new journal Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly (CABEQ) as a part of European Alpe-Adria initiative for regional cooperation is described. Given are the main goals for the new journal published by Croatian Association of Chemical Engineers, formation of the international editorial board, and experiences gained during 15 years of publishing. Presented are statistical data on published papers, country of origin of authors, and classification of papers into chemical and biochemical engineering fields. The experiences gained during the last two years with publishing on Internet and planned activities in future are also presented. A view on validation of journals by ISI impact factor is discussed.
