Welcome to the Journal Guide

The Journal Guide gives you peace of mind when selecting journals, so you don’t have to worry about article processing charges (APCs) or non-compliance with your funder’s policies. If you are a researcher from London South Bank University you can look up your favorite journals or search and filter to get to a selection of journals that match your research. Select a funder to see whether the journals are compliant or not, and check the filter ‘Journals with agreements’ to limit the list to journals for which the APCs are fully or partially waived.

Health Systems & Reform

ISSN: 2328-8604eISSN: 2328-8620
DOAJ Logo
Health Systems & Reform (HS&R) is the first peer-reviewed, Open Access journal that is dedicated to bridging research, theory and analysis with knowledge and experience in health systems and reform, and aims at becoming a global platform for sharing positive and normative lessons in this field. Most health systems around the world are at various stages of reform cycles.

Aging, chronic diseases, persistent infectious diseases, and new healthcare technologies are among mounting challenges that require innovative and cost-effective approaches to healthcare delivery and reform. On the other hand, there is no international journal that is dedicated to catalyzing cross-national knowledge transfer and translation in health systems and reform. HS&R will fill this gap.

HS&R strives to become the journal of excellence and reference in health systems and reform. The journal’s mission is to create a global platform for sharing cutting edge knowledge, skills, and lessons in health systems and reform and to provide answers that matter for leaders, professionals, and students looking for research, data, information, with a focus on lessons for health systems and reform. Most importantly, HS&R will contribute to strengthening health systems and to improving care delivered to patients.

Each issue of HS&R will include cutting-edge research articles and commentaries addressing critical topics in health systems financing, health systems management, public health, health policy, and health economics.

Research articles will examine health reforms from national and cross-national perspectives and will include positive and normative analysis and recommendations. The journal is committed to publishing articles that examine the processes and the consequences of health reform efforts around the world. Every issue will also include commentaries from healthcare leaders, such as ministers of health, CEOs of healthcare companies, and heads of nonprofit and nongovernmental institutions. These leaders will share their experiences, concerns, and policy lessons with a global audience.

We encourage academics, practitioners, and leaders in public health and other relevant health system stakeholders to submit their articles to Health Systems & Reform. Prospective authors are encouraged to contact the Editors-in-Chief with proposals and ideas for articles.

Health, Risk & Society

ISSN: 1369-8575eISSN: 1469-8331

Health Risk & Society is an international scholarly journal devoted to a theoretical and empirical understanding of the social processes which influence the ways in which health risks are taken, communicated, assessed and managed.Public awareness of risk is associated with the development of high profile media debates about specific risks. Although risk issues arise in a variety of areas, such as technological usage and the environment, they are particularly evident in health. Not only is health a major issue of personal and collective concern, but failure to effectively assess and manage risk is likely to result in health problems.Health, Risk & Society aims to stimulate wider study of the issues by providing a focus for study and publication by academics and practitioners on the relationship between health, risk and society.Health, Risk & Society is an interdisciplinary and intersectoral journal. Contributions are welcomed from a variety of social sciences disciplines, including economics, sociology, psychology and management. The journal particularly encourages the submission of articles exploring the ways in which risk was handled at a variety of levels, e.g. in the community, within various organisations and at national and supranational levels. Articles should be accessible to a variety of audiences, including practitioners and policy-makers.ReadershipHealth, Risk & Society aims to bring together social scientists, practitioners and policy makers who have an interest in risk issues relating to health. These disciplines include; sociology, social policy, management, economics, political science, social and clinical psychology, anthropology, education, social and public health medicine, nursing, social work, law and psychiatry.Peer Review IntegrityAll research articles in this journal, including those in special issues, special sections or supplements, have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two independent referees.DisclaimerTaylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the Content ) contained in its publications.
