Water Resources and Industry moves research to innovation by focusing on the role industry plays in the exploitation, management and treatment of water resources.
Different industries use radically different water resources in their production processes, while they produce, treat and dispose a wide variety of wastewater qualities. Depending on the geographical location of the facilities, the impact on the local resources will vary, pre-empting the applicability of one single approach.

The aims and scope of the journal include:

• Industrial water footprint assessment - an evaluation of tools and methodologies
• What constitutes good corporate governance and policy and how to evaluate water-related risk
• What constitutes good stakeholder collaboration and engagement
• New technologies enabling companies to better manage water resources
• Integration of water and energy and of water treatment and production processes in industry

This new title follows the Universal Access model. Publication charges are waived for authors from developing countries eligible under http://research4life.org/eligibility/Research4Life criteria for access.

Weather and Climate Extremes provides academics, decision makers, international development agencies, nongovernmental organizations and civil society with publications on different aspects of research in weather and climate extremes, monitoring and early warning systems, assessment of vulnerability and impacts, developing and implementing intervention policies, effective risk management and adaptation practices to address local and regional needs and circumstances, engagement of local communities in the adoption of these practices to cope with extremes, and information and communication strategies. World Development Perspectives is a multi-disciplinary journal of international development. It seeks to explore ways of improving human well-being by examining the performance and impact of interventions designed to address issues related to: poverty alleviation, public health and malnutrition, agricultural production, natural resource governance, globalization and transnational processes, technological progress, gender and social discrimination, and participation in economic and political life. Above all, we are particularly interested in the role of historical, legal, social, economic, political, biophysical, and/or ecological contexts in shaping development processes and outcomes.

We welcome contributions that offer constructive ideas and analysis, and highlight the lessons to be learned from the experiences of different nations, societies, and economies. World Development Perspectives recognizes 'development' as a process of change at and across multiple scales, involving a diverse range of actors at each scale. Keeping in mind this diversity, our objective is to build a rigorous understanding of the interactions between the relevant contextual factors and specific development interventions in explaining development outcomes. WRITR provides an international forum for practitioners, academics and policymakers to exchange concepts, research and best practices in the field of intermodal transportation. The demand for transportation that is safe, efficient and cost-effective has led to increasing use of responsive multimodal transportation systems within the supply chains of many firms. Policy makers also have an interest in developing systems that balance the safety/security needs of their constituents with business/consumer objectives. Furthermore, long-term sustainability is an important goal of any system.

A peer-reviewed journal, Cultural Geographies publishes scholarly research and informed commentaries on the cultural appropriation and politics of nature, environment, place, and space. It welcomes contributions from the growing numbers of scholars and practitioners across the arts, humanities and social and environmental sciences who are interested in these cultural geographies.

disP – The Planning Rewiev is an interdisciplinary scientific journal, which addresses topics in the areas of Urban Development, City and Town Planning, Landscape and Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, Regional and Environmental Economics as well as Transportation Planing. It is published quarterly. Normally two disP issues a year are dedicated to a specific theme (Theme issues). The articles in disP are chosen using a panel procedure and an international advisory board supports the editorial staff. International orientation Authors from all nations can use disP as a vehicle to contribute their articles to the european planning forum. Articles are published in German, English, French or Italian. An english summary is provided for each article published in another language. .
