The Japanese Journal of Applied Physics (JJAP) is an international journal for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in all fields of applied physics. The journal publishes articles dealing with the applications of physical principles as well as articles concerning the understanding of physics that have particular applications in mind. The journal not only covers all aspects of modern technology such as semiconductor devices including VLSI technology, photonic devices, superconductors, and magnetic recording but also covers other diverse areas such as plasma physics, particle accelerators, nanoscience and technology, and applied bioscience. Articles in interdisciplinary areas with potential technological implications are strongly encouraged.JJAP is published monthly and is for Regular Papers, Rapid Communications, Brief Notes, and Review Papers. Rapid Communications are published bimonthly online. In addition, several Special Issues are published each year. These contain monographs from international conferences and up-to-date findings of research groups.Comments and replies are also published. This section includes the comments on papers previously published in JJAP, and a replies to those. There is also a special section, “Selected Topics in Applied Physics” that highlights specific topics in applied physics. This section features rapidly developing current trends in the selected research area. .
JOURNAL FOR THE HISTORY OF ASTRONOMY was founded in 1970 and is the only journal devoted to the history of astronomy from earliest times to the present, and to history in the service of astronomy. Its subject matter extends to such allied fields as the history of the relevant branches of mathematics and physics, and the use of historical records in the service of astronomy.
© Nicolas Brodu. 2003 The astrolabe is an ancient astronomical computer for solving problemsrelating to time and the position of the sun and stars in the sky.Historians credit the invention of the astrolabe to classical Greece.Brass astrolabes were highly developed in the Islamic world of the 8thcentury and later. chiefly as an aid to navigation and as a way offinding the direction of Mecca. In the Middle Ages it found its wayback to Europe and became the chief navigational instrument until theinvention of the sextant in the 18th century.
Journal of Analytical Methods in Chemistry (formerly titled Journal of Automated Methods and Management in Chemistry) publishes original research articles as well as review articles related to the use of analytical methods in chemistry with particular emphasis on automation and mechanization in analytical, clinical, and industrial environments.
The Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics (JACMP) is an applied journal, which publishes papers that will help clinical medical physicists perform their responsibilities more effectively and efficiently for the increased benefit of the patient. The journal was established in 2000 and is an open access journal published quarterly.
Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics presents top-level work in fluid mechanics and applied physics. Each issue contains valuable contributions on: hypersonic flow, boundary layer theory, turbulence and hydrodynamic stability, free boundary flows, plasma physics, shock waves, explosives and detonation processes, combustion theory, multiphase flows, heat and mass transfer, composite materials, thermal properties of new materials, plasticity, creep, and failure.
Journal of Applied Physics is the American Institute of Physics' (AIP) archival journal for significant new results in applied physics; content is published online daily, collected into two online and printed issues per month (24 issues per year). The journal publishes articles that emphasize understanding of the physics underlying modern technology, but distinguished from technology on the one side and pure physics on the other. Applied Physics Reviews is a series of occasional review articles on topics within this scope. The Proceedings of the Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials is an annual feature.
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy reports on key applications of spectroscopy in, physics, chemistry , material science, medicine, biology, ecology and spectral instrument-industry . An increasing number of papers presented here focus on the theory of lasers, as well as on the tremendous potential for the practical applications of lasers in numerous fields and industries. The Journal publishes new results of investigations in applied spectroscopy and other related fields on the following topics: atomic spectroscopy, molecular spectroscopy, luminescence, laser spectroscopy, nonlinear spectroscopy, spectroscopy of scattering media, spectroscopy of solids, spectroscopy of nanostructures, spectroscopy of gases and plasmas, spectroscopy in biology and medicine, spectroscopy in environment studies, devices and methods of spectroscopy, optical materials. Journal of Applied Spectroscopy is a translation of the peer-reviewed Russian language journal Zhurnal Prikladnoi Spektroskopii. More information is available at the
Journal of Astrophysics & Astronomy, a quarterly journal in English, is published by the Indian Academy of Sciences. It publishes papers on all aspects of Astrophysics and Astronomy, including Instrumentation.
Since its foundation, in 1973, the Journal of Biological Physics has served the community of physicists researching the domains of biology, applying sophisticated theoretical, computational and experimental tools to study biological processes, systems and materials. The journal publishes papers which use the tools of physics, both experimental and theoretical, in innovative ways to study biological problems, as well as research aimed at better understanding the physical principles underlying biological processes. All areas of biological physics are addressed, from the molecular level, through the mesoscale of membranes and cells, up to the macroscopic level of tissues, organisms and  populations. As biological physics expands its traditional boundaries,  it sometimes overlaps with other disciplines, such as chemistry, engineering, mathematics, investigating the interface with biology. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies although, it continues to pay special attention to the physics content of the r
