The International Journal of Neuroscience publishes original research articles, reviews, brief scientific notes, case studies, letters to the editor and book reviews concerned with problems of the nervous system and related clinical studies, epidemiology, neuropathology, medical and surgical treatment options and outcomes, neuropsychology and other topics related to the research and care of persons with neurologic disorders. The focus of the journal is clinical and transitional research. Topics covered include but are not limited to: ALS, ataxia, autism, brain tumors, child neurology, demyelinating diseases, epilepsy, genetics, headache, lysosomal storage disease, mitochondrial dysfunction, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, myopathy, neurodegenerative diseases, neuromuscular disorders, neuropharmacology, neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, pain, sleep disorders, stroke, and other areas related to the neurosciences.

The International Journal of Psychophysiology is the official journal of the International Organization of Psychophysiology, and provides a respected forum for the publication of high quality original contributions on all aspects of psychophysiology. The journal is interdisciplinary and aims to integrate the neurosciences and behavioral sciences. Empirical, theoretical, and review articles are encouraged in the following areas:• Cerebral psychophysiology: including functional brain mapping and neuroimaging with Event-Related Potentials (ERPs), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and Electroencephalographic studies.• Autonomic functions: including bilateral electrodermal activity, pupillometry and blood volume changes.• Cardiovascular Psychophysiology:including studies of blood pressure, cardiac functioning and respiration.• Somatic psychophysiology: including muscle activity, eye movements and eye blinks.Manuscripts will detail the study of physiological measures such as the ones mentioned, or others, along with a variety of behavioral measures that may include sensation and perception, learning, memory, evolution and development of behaviour, motivation and emotion, aggression and defence, interhemispheric relations, information processing, sleep, stress, psychopharmacology and psychophysiological disorders.Also considered will be papers on Clinical Psychophysiology (cognitive, affective and psychotic disorders and psychopharmacology), including applied Psychophysiology (eg, ergonomics) and effects of behavior on immune function.

The International Journal of Stroke is a welcome addition to the international stroke journal landscape in that it concentrates on the clinical aspects of stroke with basic science contributions in areas of clinical interest. Reviews of current topics are broadly based to encompass not only recent advances of global interest but also those which may be more important in certain regions and the journal regularly features items of news interest from all parts of the world. To facilitate the international nature of the journal, our Associate Editors from Europe, Asia, North America and South America coordinate segments of the journal. Some of these segments include:

Invertebrate Neuroscience publishes original articles, reviews and technical reports describing recent advances in the field of invertebrate neuroscience. The journal reports on research that exploits the simplicity and experimental tractability of the invertebrate preparations to underpin fundamental advances in neuroscience. Articles published in Invertebrate Neurosciences serve to highlight properties of signalling in the invertebrate nervous system that may be exploited in the field of antiparisitics, molluscicides and insecticides. Aspects of particular interest include: functional analysis of the invertebrate nervous system; molecular neuropharmacology and toxicology; neurogenetics and genomics; functional anatomy; neurodevelopment; neuronal networks; and molecular and cellular mechanisms of behaviour and behavioural plasticity.

The Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease is an international multidisciplinary journal to facilitate progress in understanding the etiology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, genetics, behavior, treatment and psychology of Alzheimer’s disease. The journal publishes research reports, reviews, short communications, book reviews, and letters-to-the-editor. The journal is dedicated to providing an open forum for original research that will expedite our fundamental understanding of Alzheimer’s disease.

On 1.8.2007, the Faculty of Biological Sciences became the Faculty of Science. The specialized study programs, which were focused almost exclusively on biology, have been expanded to include chemical, physical and mathematical.study programs. Also, courses in the offered study programs are included in the training program for future teachers.

Journal of Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injury (JBPPNI) is an Open Access, online journal encompassing all aspects of basic and clinical research findings in the area of brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injury. The peripheral nervous system is unique in its complexity and scope of influence. The areas of interest in the anatomy, physiology, metabolism, phylogeny, and limb growth tropism of peripheral nerves. Current areas of interest in the brachial plexus include clinical as well as basic scientific elements that will enhance recovery from injury. Articles on diagnostic and imaging aspects of the peripheral nervous system are welcomed as well.The purpose of the journal is to foster interdisciplinary discussion of disease entities to stimulate new thinking and generate novel techniques of peripheral nerve injury management.

The journal is relevant to any physician or scientist with an interest in brain function, cerebrovascular disease, cerebral vascular regulation and brain metabolism, including neurologists, neurochemists, physiologists, pharmacologists, anesthesiologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, neuropathologists and neuroscientists.

The Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy publishes scientific reports relating the functional and biochemical aspects of the nervous system with its microanatomical organization. The scope of the journal concentrates on reports which combine microanatomical, biochemical, pharmacological and behavioural approaches.Papers should offer original data correlating the morphology of the nervous system (the brain and spinal cord in particular) with its biochemistry. The Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy is particularly interested in publishing important studies performed with up-to-date methodology utilizing sensitive chemical microassays, hybridoma technology, immunocytochemistry, in situ hybridization and receptor radioautography, to name a few examples.The Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy is the natural vehicle for integrated studies utilizing these approaches. The articles will be selected by the editorial board and invited reviewers on the basis of their excellence and potential contribution to this field of neurosciences. Both in vivo and in vitro integrated studies in chemical neuroanatomy are appropriate subjects of interest to the journal.
