Journal of Investigative Dermatology (JID) publishes papers describing original research on all aspects of cutaneous biology and skin disease. Topics include biochemistry, biophysics, carcinogenesis, cell regulation, development, skin structure, extracellular matrix, genetics, immunology, melanocyte biology, microbiology, molecular and cell biology, pathology, physiology, pharmacology, photobiology, percutaneous absorption, clinical research, epidemiology and other population-based research. Original Articles, Communications, Review Articles, and Letters to the Editor are standard features. Perspectives and Commentaries are invited by the Editorial Board.

Journal of Investigative Dermatology Symposium Proceedings (JIDSP) publishes peer-reviewed, invited papers relevant to all aspects of cutaneous biology and skin disease. These papers have often been initially presented at a scientific meeting. Recent JIDSP issues were generated from scientific meetings devoted to research in specific topic areas, including "Keratinocyte and Melanocyte Cancers of Skin: Interacting Pathways" (53rd Montagna Symposium on the Biology of Skin); "First International Pachyonychia Congenita Symposium"; "Stem Cells in Skin" (52nd Montagna Symposium on the Biology of Skin); and "The Burden of Skin Disease". Potential topics include biochemistry, biophysics, carcinogenesis, cellular growth and regulation, clinical research, development, epidemiology and other population-based research, extracellular matrix, genetics, immunology, melanocyte biology, microbiology, molecular and cell biology, pathology, pharmacology and percutaneous absorption, photobiology, physiology, and skin structure.

The Journal of Investigative Medicine is the official journal of the American Federation for Medical Research (AFMR), an international multidisciplinary association of scientists engaged in all areas of biomedical investigation: patient-oriented, translational, and basic research. Published eight issues per year, the Journal is a major platform for physician-scientists, those with a clinical/translational focus, and those with a basic science focus. The Journal of Investigative Medicine offers original, peer-reviewed investigations and articles detailing the latest developments in interdisciplinary medical research. The Journal also includes information about changes affecting the biomedical research community; interviews with prominent members of the scientific community; news on Federal regulatory changes; and professional recruitment and research funding guides. Abstract issues published twice per year contain programs and abstracts of AFMR's regional and national meetings and those of 16 other societies that meet jointly with AFMR.

The Official Journal of the International Isotope Society The Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals publishes original scientific manuscripts dealing with all aspects of research in labelled compound preparation and application. This includes areas such as analytical control, self radiolysis, quality control handling, storage, and tracer methods used in chemical, biochemical, biological, pharmacological, medical, genetic, agricultural and geochemical research. All radionuclides and enriched stable nuclides are included. The Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals devotes particular attention to the following fields: radionuclide production; cyclotron targetry; neutron irradiation methodology; precursor preparation and production; labelling synthesis (chemical, biochemical, radiation, isotope exchange, etc); automation of nuclide production, precursor, preparation and synthesis; analysis (methods, limitations, etc. for both radioactive and stable nuclides, including new detection techniques); radiopharmaceuticals; PET chemistry; quality control (an essential requirement for valid data and especially for radiopharmaceuticals); stability and storage problems; handling of Curie and multiCurie amounts of radioactivity; etc. JLCR Award for Young Scientists: The Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals, in cooperation with the International Isotope Society Conferences and the International Conferences on Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, sponsor every year four Awards to early excellence in radiopharmaceutical research and isotope labelling.

The Journal of Leukocyte Biology (JLB) has its origins in the Journal of the Reticuloendothelial Society (JRES) and is today an increasingly highly recognized international journal reporting scientific advances in leukocyte biology.In 1922, Karl Albert Ludwig Aschoff (1866–1942) coined the term “reticuloendothelial system” (RES) [1]. The RES concept was introduced as early as 1914 by Kenji Kiyono (1855–1955). One of the most prominent characteristics of RES cells was their propensity for absorption and storage of vital stains in granular form that had been introduced into the blood in solution. .

The Journal of Lipid Research (JLR) focuses on the science of lipids in health and disease. The Journal emphasizes lipid function and the biochemical and genetic regulation of lipid metabolism. In addition, JLR publishes manuscripts on patient-oriented and epidemiological research relating to altered lipid metabolism, including modification of dietary lipids. The JLR aims to be on the forefront of the emerging areas of genomics, proteomics, and lipidomics as they relate to lipid metabolism and function.The JLR covers biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, structural biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, metabolism, nutrition and clinical science as they relate to lipids.

Journal of Lipids is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles related to all aspects of lipids.

The Journal of Liquid Chromatography & Related Technologies is an internationally acclaimed forum for fast publication of critical, peer reviewed manuscripts dealing with analytical, preparative and process scale liquid chromatography and all of its related technologies, including TLC, capillary electrophoresis, capillary electrochromatography, supercritical fluid chromatography and extraction, field-flow technologies, affinity, and much more. New separation methodologies are added when they are developed. Papers dealing with research and development results, as well as critical reviews of important technologies, are published in the Journal.

The purpose of the Journal of Luminescence is to provide a means of communication between scientists in different disciplines who share a common interest in the electronic excited state of molecular, ionic and covalent systems, whether crystalline, amorphous, or liquid.We invite original papers and reviews on such subjects as: exciton and polariton dynamics, dynamics, dynamics of localized excited states, energy transport in ordered and disordered systems, radiative and non-radiative recombination, relaxation processes, vibronic interactions in electronic excited states, photochemistry in condensed systems, excited state resonance, double resonance, etc, selective excitation spectroscopy, coherent processes in excited states, e.g. coherent optical transients, photon echoes, transient gratings, multiphoton processes such as optical bistability, hole burning, photochromism, multiphoton spectroscopy, new techniques for the study of excited states. This list is not intended to be exhaustive. Papers in the traditional areas of optical spectroscopy (absorption, MCD, luminescence, Raman scattering) are welcome. Papers on applications (phosphors, electro- and cathodo-luminescence, radiography, energy conversion, etc.) are also welcome if they present results of scientific, rather than only technological interest.Whatever the subject, to be accepted a paper must present some genuinely novel result of sufficient importance to justify publication in an international journal. All papers will be refereed. Authors may submit their papers if they wish to an associate editor, but the final responsibility for accepting or rejecting a paper rests with the general editor. Every effort will be made to ensure that submitted papers are acted on promptly. They should appear in print within four months of receipt in final form. Short communications are welcome and will be handled expeditiously.

The Journal of Magnetic Resonance presents original technical and scientific papers in all aspects of magnetic resonance, including nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) of solids and liquids, electron spin/paramagnetic resonance (EPR), in vivomagnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS), nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) and magnetic resonance phenomena at nearly zero fields or in combination with optics. The Journal's main aims include deepening the physical principles underlying all these spectroscopies, publishing significant theoretical and experimental results leading to spectral and spatial progress in these areas, and opening new MR-based applications in chemistry, biology and medicine. The Journal also seeks descriptions of novel apparatuses, new experimental protocols, and new procedures of data analysis and interpretation - including computational and quantum-mechanical methods - capable of advancing MR spectroscopy and imaging.With a solid track record spanning over four decades, the Journal of Magnetic Resonance is known for introducing high-quality, breakthrough articles. These have been seminal to the current state-of-the-art achieved by NMR, ESR, MRI and NQR, and it is a tradition we aim to preserve and enlarge. The Journal's readership spans the full range of disciplines impacted by magnetic resonance, including experts interested in magnetic resonance within the context of physics, engineering, materials sciences, chemistry, biophysics, structural biology, in vivo biochemistry, biology, preclinical analyses, and human imaging.Emphasis is placed on expanding the basic principles and techniques underlying this branch of spectroscopy, as well as on state-of-the-art applications of novel MR experiments to all the research areas of interest to our constituency. Manuscripts that only make routine use of well-established techniques or minor spectroscopic contributions, are not appropriate for the Journal.

The Journal of Mammalogy (JOM) is the flagship publication of the American Society of Mammalogists, established in 1919. JOM is published six times per year in February, April, June, August, October, and December. The Journal is a highly respected international scientific journal that promotes interest in mammals throughout the world by the publication of original and timely research on all aspects of the biology of mammals, e.g., ecology, genetics, conservation, behavior, and physiology. Society news and student scholarship opportunities are published regularly at the end of each issue.

Journal of Mammary Gland Biology and Neoplasia provides researchers within and outside the field of mammary gland biology with an integrated source of information derived from studies of the development, function, and pathology of the mammary gland. This quarterly journal offers comprehensive analyses of all aspects of the field, considering the fundamental biology and pathology of the mammary gland including, but not restricted to mammary development, the biology of breast cancer, lactation, milk proteins, bioactive agents in milk, hormonal regulation, growth factors, signal transduction, nutrition, and genetics. Each outstanding issue, guest edited by prominent authorities in the field, contains a series of minireviews encompassing a single topic. Journal of Materials Chemistry A, B & C cover high quality studies across all fields of materials chemistry. Journal of Medical Genetics is a leading international publication covering original research in human genetics, including reviews of and opinion on the latest developments. Articles cover the genetic basis of human disease including germline cancer genetics, the clinical manifestations of genetic disorders, applications of molecular genetics to medical practice and the systematic evaluation of such applications. Each edition includes original articles, short reports, review articles, hypothesis articles, book reviews, online mutation reports and e-letters where readers are invited to comment on material published in the journal. With Editorial Board members from all around the world (including the US, Canada, Europe, Australasia and the Far East), JMG strives to represent and, more importantly, to participate in the shaping of trends and opinions in human genetics research worldwide.

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry publishes studies that contribute to an understanding of the relationship between molecular structure and biological activity or mode of action.

Some specific areas that are appropriate include the following:

• Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel biologically active compounds, diagnostic agents, or labeled ligands employed as pharmacological tools.
• Molecular modifications of reported series that lead to a significantly improved understanding of their structure-activity relationships (SAR). Routine extensions of existing series that do not utilize novel chemical or biological approaches or do not add significantly to a basic understanding of the SAR of the series will normally not be accepted for publication.
• Structural biological studies (X-ray, NMR, etc.) of relevant ligands and targets with the aim of investigating molecular recognition processes in the action of biologically active compounds.
• Molecular biological studies (e.g., site-directed mutagenesis) of macromolecular targets that lead to an improved understanding of molecular recognition.
• Computational studies that provide fresh insight into the SAR of compound series that are of current general interest or analysis of other available data that subsequently advance medicinal chemistry knowledge.
• Substantially novel computational chemistry methods with demonstrated value for the identification, optimization, or target interaction analysis of bioactive molecules.
• Effect of molecular structure on the distribution, pharmacokinetics, and metabolic transformation of biologically active compounds. This may include design, synthesis, and evaluation of novel types of prodrugs.
• Novel methodology with broad application to medicinal chemistry, but only if the methods have been tested on relevant molecules.
