Founded in 1952, Past & Present is widely acknowledged to be the liveliest and most stimulating historical journal in the English-speaking world. The journal offers: A wide variety of scholarly and original articles on historical, social and cultural change in all parts of the world; Four issues a year, each containing five or six major articles plus occasional debates and review essays; Challenging work by young historians as well as seminal articles by internationally regarded scholars; A range of articles that appeal to specialists and non-specialists, and communicate the results of the most recent historical research in a readable and lively form; A forum for debate, encouraging productive controversy; The examination of particular problems and periods as well as wider issues of historical change.

Philosophia Mathematica is the only journal in the world devoted specifically to philosophy of mathematics. The journal publishes peer-reviewed new work in philosophy of mathematics, the application of mathematics, and computing. In addition to main articles, sometimes grouped on a single theme, there are shorter discussion notes, letters, and book reviews. The journal publishes three issues per year.

Policy and Society is a leading international journal that publishes original and innovative research addressing policy theory and practice at the local, national and international level. It seeks to explore the policy contexts that shape policy processes, the intersection between policy and politics, and the political, social, and economic manifestation of these on policy and society.The Journal welcomes submissions that deal with policy processes and contexts from a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective.The journal publishes themed issues, not individual papers. Issues consist of an introductory review article (approximately 6 - 8,000 words) and 6 - 8 articles (approximately 6,000 - 8,000 words). Each issue is normally overseen by a special guest editor. The Postgraduate Medical Journal is a peer reviewed journal published on behalf of the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine. The journal aims to support junior doctors and their teachers and contribute to the continuing professional development of all doctors by publishing papers on a wide range of topics relevant to the practicing clinician and teacher. Papers published in PMJ include those that focus on core competencies; that describe current practice and new developments in all branches of medicine; that describe relevance and impact of translational research on clinical practice; that provide background relevant to examinations; and papers on medical education and medical education research. The PMJ supports CPD by providing the opportunity for doctors to publish many types of articles including original clinical research; reviews; quality improvement reports; editorials, and correspondence on clinical matters.

Protein & Cell publishes original research articles, reviews, and commentaries concerning the latest developments in multidisciplinary areas in biology and biomedicine, with an emphasis on protein and cell research. Subject areas include biochemistry/biophysics, cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, oncology, protein science, structural biology and translational medicine. In addition, Protein & Cell addresses research highlights, news and views, and commentaries covering research policies and funding trends in China, and provides a forum to foster academic exchange among researchers across different fields of the life sciences.

A Community-Based Journal for Protein ScientistsIn January 2004, the journal Protein Engineering was relaunched as Protein Engineering, Design and Selection, or PEDS. PEDS publishes research papers and review articles relevant to the engineering, design and selection of proteins for use in biotechnology and therapy, and for understanding fundamental properties of activity, stability, folding, misfolding and disease. The journal has new editors, a new editorial structure, and a new reviewing system to make it a community journal run by protein scientists for their own discipline.

Public Health Ethics is the first peer-reviewed international journal to focus on a systematic analysis of the moral problems in public health and preventive medicine. It contains original articles, reviews, and case studies about the nature of public health and related concepts (e.g. population, public, community, prevention); discussions of values in public health; and ethical issues in relation to all aspects of public health policy and practice. This includes normative issues in epidemiological research, health promotion, infectious diseases control, screening, population genetics, resource allocation, health care system reform, vaccinations, environmental and lifestyle factors relevant to health, equity, justice and global health. PHE combines theoretical and practical work from different fields, notably philosophy, law, and politics, but also epidemiology and the medical sciences. Contributors are particularly encouraged to discuss the practical impact of their work on public health policies. PHE is therefore an important resource for scholars and students in bioethics and public health, but also for professionals and policy makers.
