Power Technology and Engineering deals with all aspects of electrical power generation and distribution, with an emphasis on sustainable technologies and environmentally sensitive issues. Topics covered include construction and operation of thermal (fossil and nuclear) and hydroelectric power stations, electric lines and equipment, renewable sources of energy, and environmental issues. Power Technology and Engineering publishes articles selected from the Russian journals Gidrotekhnicheskoe Stroitel’stvo (Hydrotechnical Construction) and Elektricheskie Stantsii (Electrical Power Stations). Articles are selected on the basis of their scientific and technical quality, their focus on the above themes, and the significance to a worldwide audience of this leading Russian research and practice. Power Technology and Engineering is a continuation of the Kluwer/Consultants Bureau journal Hydrotechnical Construction, which was a translation of Gidrotekhnicheskoe Stroitel’stvo exclusively. The change improves the scope of the journal and makes two valuable sources of Russian research available internationally. Each annual volume of Power Technology and Engineering will contain six issues. Volume 36 (2002) is to be published in July–December 2002, following completion of Volume 35 of Hydrotechnical Construction, which was published from July 2001 to June 2002. From Volume 37 (2003) Power Technology and Engineering will be published bimonthly on a calendar year (January to December) basis.

Precision Agriculture presents the most innovative results emerging from research in the field of precision agriculture. It provides an effective forum for disseminating original and fundamental research and experience in the rapidly advancing area of precision farming. Topics that are addressed include natural resources variability, including soil and landscape variability; managing variability, including sampling techniques, nutrient and crop protection chemical recommendation and crop quality; engineering technology, focusing on Computers, positioning systems, DGPS, machinery, and more. Discussion of profitablility includes net returns, BMPs and optimum recommendations; environmental coverage includes sediments, leaching, runoff and drainage. Also covered are topics regarding transfer of technology: education, training, outreach and more. Precision Agriculture promotes the most innovative results coming from the research in the field of precision agriculture.

Prevention sciences encompassing etiology, epidemiology and intervention are represented through peer-reviewed original research articles on a variety of health and social problems, including but not limited to substance abuse, mental health, HIV/AIDS, violence, accidents, teenage pregnancy, suicide, delinquency, STD's, obesity, diet/nutrition, exercise, and chronic illness. The journal also publishes literature reviews, theoretical articles, and papers concerning new developments in methodology.Prevention Science is the official publication of the Society for Prevention Research.

Probiotics and Antimicrobial Proteins publishes reviews, original articles, letters (short notes) and technical (methodological) communications targeted towards the advancement of the fundamental knowledge and exploration of the applications of probiotics, natural antimicrobial proteins and their derivatives in biomedical, agricultural, veterinary, food, and cosmetic products. The Journal equally welcomes fundamental research articles and reports on applications of these microorganisms and substances. The Journal encourages structural studies and studies that correlate the structure and functional properties of antimicrobial proteins. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts dealing with all aspects of probiotics and antimicrobial peptides, from their discovery and understanding mechanisms of action to biophysical experiments/simulations that clarify mechanisms of action on molecular level, testing pharmacological profiles (activity and toxicity) and design of novel antimicrobial proteins and/or probiotic-containing or probiotic-derived products with therapeutic, food or consumer health formulation potential.

Psychiatric Quarterly publishes original research, theoretical papers, and review articles on the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of persons with psychiatric disabilities, with emphasis on care provided in public, community, and private institutional settings such as hospitals, schools, and correctional facilities. Qualitative and quantitative studies concerning the social, clinical, administrative, legal, political, and ethical aspects of mental health care fall within the scope of the journal. Psychological Injury and Law is a journal designed as a multidisciplinary forum for the dissemination of research articles and scholarly exchanges about issues pertaining to the interface of psychology and law in the area of trauma, injury, and their psychological impact. The journal intends to help build the evidentiary research base of the field, and to critically examine its concepts and practice. Psychological impairments and disabilities may arise from physical and/or mental injuries ascribed to alleged negligent actions. They need to be judiciously assessed for their validity, and treated when evaluated as valid. They lead to legal and related action when there are long term or permanent effects.

The Psychological Record publishes empirical and conceptual articles related to the field of behavior analysis, behavior science, and behavior theory. The journal welcomes investigations of basic behavioral processes, as well as translational studies that bridge experimental and applied analyses of behavior. Conceptual articles pertinent to the theory and philosophy of behaviorism are also welcome.

The journal Psychological Research publishes articles that contribute to a basic understanding of human perception, attention, memory and action. It is devoted to the dissemination of knowledge based on firm experimental ground, independent of any particular approach or school of thought.
